When I discovered homoeopathy in 1989, I was amazed how beneficial and gentle it was. I felt transformed and it has been my preferred form of treatment ever since. I soon spread the word to family and friends and anyone else who was interested.
Much later as my interest grew I studied homoeopathy at the South Downs School of Homoeopathy in Chichester. It was a four-year course and I consider it to be one of the best things I have ever done.
I worked at Victim Support in Lambeth for two years during my student training, where under the supervision of two qualified homoeopaths I had the privilege of treating mentally ill people, some with drug and alcohol addictions.
My most memorable case was when a patient came to us who was clearly unemployable and whose mental health problems were evident just by looking at her. On one of her visits to the clinic she was distraught because she had been for an interview and during the course of that interview she was asked if she had mental health problems. In a matter of 18 months, with regular homoeopathic treatment, she had managed to turn her life around first by getting a part time job and then going on to take a degree course. This amazing result acted to reaffirm my strong belief in homoeopathy.
I am registered with the Society of Homoeopaths and work within their Code of Ethics and Practice. I also have professional indemnity insurance.
I love my work, it is so rewarding especially when patients are satisfied with the level of health they have achieved. Because homoeopathy stimulates the patient´s own healing response, they feel better emotionally, mentally as well as physically.
Recently I have become a Consultant of Foresight, an organisation whose aims are to promote good health to enable couples overcome their difficulties conceiving. Together with homoeopathy the couples can reach optimum health and healthy couples have a better chance of not only conceiving but producing healthy babies.
